Career Center

The University of Virginia Career Center provides a wide array of programs and services to empower students to take ownership of their continuous career development process. They are committed to helping you develop and harness a special entrepreneurial spirit, no matter your career path. They can connect you to resources and information across Grounds if you want to start your own venture or if you want to build on your sense of innovation in a role with a growing or established company.
Students can schedule one-on-one appointments via Handshake to meet with a career counselor to clarify their career goals, learn about career development resources, or enhance search strategies for internships and jobs. The Career Center also hosts several programs and events every semester to provide students foundational knowledge and professional networks necessary for success.
Additionally, the Career Center offers free skills online courses in Coursera for UVA for students to learn various subjects from business fundamentals to design thinking and Agile methodology.
If students want to connect with alumni entrepreneurs, they can utilize Virginia Alumni Mentoring to search from a database of alumni mentors who have a wide range of experiences and can offer career advice from their professional perspective.
Finally, students can utilize Handshake to find the most up to date job and internship postings from companies of all sizes, including start-up’s right here in Charlottesville.
